Samantha
Chan was third in the 125km RCE behind two Chinese runners, Han An (19:58:46) and Qian
Peng (20:46:34). Chan just seven minutes behind Qian, having battled
through stomach cramps late in the race, which cost her the second position,
and then almost catching Qian on the final stretch.
Samantha is a former Hong Kong youth track star who now runs ultras. Her best results include 12th place at TDS at UTMB,
winning 100km Kanas Race in China (2017) and 12th place at Hong Kong 100
(2016). In 2017 Samantha was third female (and 15th overall) in
the 400km Ultra Gobi and in 2018 she was sixth at Oman by UTMB.
